Nowadays, you can see transmissions ranging from 3-speed transmissions
to 7 and 10 speed transmissions in trucks and heavy vehicles. One of the
transmissions developed in early 1990’s was T56 transmission.
It is six-speed transmission. Borg-Warner developed T56 transmission
for Dodge Viper. Well-known auto manufacturing company General Motors
used T56 transmissions for their generation II engines built by Tremec
with similar design of T56 transmission. T56 transmissions were
succeeded by Tremec Tr6060 transmissions.
